While talking everyday with
you, our customers in the store, I am getting a sense that malls and
mass retailers aren't quite living up to your holiday shopping
expectations. You are asking for a more relaxing atmosphere, personal
attention, unique gift selection and most of you comment on your desire
to support local businesses. This is exciting to hear as Artistry
Furniture and Gift Gallery, along with the multitudes of quaint shops,
boutiques and galleries downtown, offer exactly what you're after. If
you haven't been downtown in a while, your perfect opportunity to see
how we've grown is to stroll through the shops on Saturday, November
10th for our annual Christmas Cookie Classic. Bring a friend or your
family and stop in to sample our yummy cookies and hot berry tea. Grab
a bite to eat or mug of hot chocolate at one of our coffee houses or
cafes then stick around for our annual Downtown Holiday Parade along Main and 6th streets. Immediately following the
parade, the Community Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held at Monument Square.

Custom Window Treatments
 Q: Dear Rhonda,
I have been searching for window treatments for my bedroom with out
much luck. My friend suggested having custom treatments made, however, all I can imagine with custom
treatments is my grandmothers home. She had window treatments that were
heavy and dusty, and the pattern matched the wall paper which matched
the bedspread, which matched the carpeting...etc. That is just not my
style! If I go the custom route, will I be left with what I perceive to
be a dated look?
